Not all Vikings were wild and violent. They were also very clever and skilled. Leif Eriksson and his crew were some of the first people to arrive in America, and even made it as far as New York Harbor. The amazing part of their journey was that they were able to look around, remember what they saw, and then find their way back home.
He was not satisfied with just spreading Christianity to Greenland, so he started the Ericsson company so that Christians could stay connected with each other. He also created tools that could be used both for fighting and for talking to each other.
A man who lived on the east coast of North America had traveled to three different places: Markland (which is now known as Labrador), Helluland (which is now known as Baffin Island), and Vinland (which is now known as either New England or Newfoundland).
I had heard of Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci for a long time in history books, but this was the person who found and explored the Americas.
